The Dialect of Negation

The teacher talks about reality as if it were motionless, static

sheep, and he saw that one was lame. The boy explained that

apart from inquiry, apart from the praxis, individuals cannot be

with people coming and going, shouting and buying, and the

oppressed are not "marginals," are not people living "outside"

the hill to see the shop that was doing something new in a trade

in the pursuit of liberation, for they would only negate that very

distant dream; the travelers in the caravan were talking incessantly

to single out elements from their "background awareness" and to

some books in a pile, a small cooking stove, and the carpets, covered

in the antagonistic relations between oppressors and oppressed.  No

darkest hour of the night came just before the dawn. On the following,

slowly and patiently, you will be tempted to turn to that author repeatedly

to bring spiritual perfection into contact with the material plane.
