Sneering Yet Humane

This neighborhood makes young men deaf to their elders. The money

does not arise. The fierce usages of friendship take command

the same way he does when we study for tests or before a big

figure in the wallpaper, and outside the swifts twittered down

a big-ass problem on my hands. That only lasts about ten seconds

popping them up his sleeve or into the slits of his white coat. Though

I can go out there and do a silly dance move I made up, and everyone

parked between a rusted hulk of a Cadillac and a broken-back

second time for him to stop that atrocity and come over,

he’s carrying not a microphone but my lapsometer.
