This is Hell
We trust that you have been benefiting from your first
worry over what might be happening to
this exclusive club of the experienced, to which
not wanting to be too close in case some hissing horror
in a comfortable little house at the south end of
a many-tined bitterness, with each sharp point tipped with
a sense that there’s something outside the frame,
had come in, smooth and monstrous and desperate,
damp and blackened and steaming, and most of the roof.
When the Manhattan Project group exploded their first atomic
bowl down in the center of the table.
there was a low, snorting, snoring sound from deeper,
a good listener—which meant you kept the other
wearing a white cloth mask to avoid aspirating any.
It also includes archival audio
and the knowledge that they weren’t listening.
The gates of hell are opening, and you are my plus one.
